Our current nominated cause is the Workplace Warehouse Further Education Fund established under the Yugunga-Nya People’s Trust. This fund seeks to support Yugunga-Nya people access further education opportunities to build a positive future.
The Yugunga-Nya people are the native title holders of 21,305 square kilometres of land in the Mid-West and Murchison regions of Western Australia, including the Shires of Cue and Meekatharra. The Shires of Cue and Meekatharra are ranked the 65th and 38th most socio-economically disadvantaged local government areas in Australia and are the 12th and 8th most socio-economically disadvantaged local government areas in Western Australia.
In the next 10 years, we hope to improve the socio-economic disadvantage ranking of the Shires of Cue and Meekatharra by 5 positions.
